Photography – Strong is The New Pretty

(English Version)

This wonderful series of photographs from American photographer Kate T. Parker  took me back to childhood.

Today all the girls seem to be princesses! Forty or so years ago, we were pirates and astronauts, spies and explorers lost in the jungle, swing from a tree until we were dizzy, climbed  the trees and hurt our knees, played with worms, frogs and lizards, did handcart races and we played in the street until the sun set. We were no princesses, but we were happy.

These girls without make-up, no frills or bows, strong and tough minded, took me back to those times. They are strong and undoubtedly beautiful. And their mother is a talented photographer who, brilliantly, knows how to grasp childhood charm.
