Na última estada em Paris fiquei no Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero e se, tal como eu, gostarem de pequenos hotéis, no centro da cidade, esta é uma boa escolha.
Bem perto do Trocadéro e do Arco do Triunfo, este pequeno Hotel Boutique é um excelente ponto de partida para explorar a cidade. Quando precisamos de ir um pouco mais longe ou já não apetece andar a pé, a estação de Metro está bem próxima (Estação Victor Hugo) e é uma alternativa um pouco mais económica, a mais rápida, que apanhar um Táxi.
Para além de ser muito bem localizado, o Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero tem um bom serviço e uma equipa amável e profissional que nos fez sentir bem vindos em todos os momentos.
Os interiores são cuidados, com uma decoração bem pensada em tons de verde, branco e cinza. Apesar dos quartos padrão não serem muito grandes, são confortáveis e funcionais. Mas a minha área favorita do Hotel é, sem dúvida, o pequeno oásis que é o seu jardim. Cheio de plantas tropicais, o jardim abriga também a esplanada do restaurante Le Relais du Parc, e era o meu local de repouso favorito quando chegava de um longo dia de passeio.

Last time visited Paris we stayed at the Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero and if, like me, you like small hotels in the city center, this is a good choice.
Very close to the Trocadéro and the Arc de Triomphe, this small boutique hotel is an excellent starting point for exploring the city. When we need to go a little further or no longer feel like walking, the Metro station is very close (Victor Hugo station) and is an alternative a little more economical, and faster, than to take a taxi.
Besides being very well located, the Renaissance Paris Le Parc Trocadero has a good service and a friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome at all times.
The interiors are well taken cared of, with a well thought out decor in shades of green, white and grey. Although standard rooms are a little small, they are comfortable and functional. But my favorite area of the Hotel is undoubtedly the little oasis that is the garden. Full of tropical plants, the garden also houses the terrace from the restaurant Le Relais du Parc, and was my favorite resting place when arriving from a long day of sightseeing. Na viagem que fizemos a Creta, passámos três noites em Atenas e não podíamos ter escolhido melhor hotel que o Grande Bretagne. Mais do que o luxo, fascinou-me a sua história, o cuidado colocado em cada detalhe, a excelência do serviço, o conforto, a localização e a vista deslumbrante. Atenas e o Grande Bretagne merecem uma visita mais demorada e não vejo a hora de voltar!
Situado na emblemática Praça Syntagma, o Grande Bretagne está perto de tudo e, mesmo que não vão com nada planeado, no balcão de Concierge encontrarão todo o apoio necessário para planear o vosso dia ou para fazer qualquer reserva ou marcação.
Todo o edifício, construído em 1842 e transformado em hotel em 1874, é belíssimo, mas o impacto causado pelo amplo lobby dificilmente será esquecido. Pleno de luz natural e de belos recantos onde os hóspedes podem desfrutar de alguns momentos enquanto esperam.

Tanto os quartos como os interiores do hotel são requintados, decorados com peças clássica e cores agradáveis. As camas confortáveis e um quarto de banho feito para relaxar, ajudaram a recuperar das horas de passeio pela cidade.

O único aspecto que concorre com os fabulosos interiores do hotel é a fantástica vista que se alcança do topo do edifício. Tomar o pequeno almoço, com o céu de um azul que só a Grécia tem e avistar a cidade e os seus principais monumentos é uma festa para os sentidos. Jantar no GB Roof Garden Restaurant & Bar, olhando a cidade iluminada e a Acrópole recortada contra o céu é uma experiência verdadeiramente inesquecível. A juntar à vista panorâmica de Atenas, o restaurante oferece uma cozinha requintada, deliciosa e variada, a par de um serviço cuidado e atento. Gostámos tanto que jantámos no Roof Garden nas três noites que ficámos em Atenas.

Antes de jantar, pode tomar uma bebida no Roof Garden ou no Alexander’s Bar. O Alexander’s, votado como o Melhor Bar de Hotel no mundo pela revista Forbes, deve o seu nome à autêntica tapeçaria do século XVIII, com Alexandre, o Grande entrando em Gaugamela. A tapeçaria é uma imagem de marca do hotel, e é o ponto focal do Alexander’s, ficando orgulhosamente pendurada em frente ao balcão. Pode sentar-se num dos confortáveis bancos de couro e desfrutar um cocktail clássico, saborear um brandy refinado, ou apreciar de um requintado conhaque. Eu realmente quero voltar com mais tempo e experimentar o coquetel assinatura do Bar – o Mandarin Napoleon Select – uma mistura surpreendente de Dubonnet Rouge, Grand Marnier, gin e um perfumado óleo essencial de tangerinas sicilianas. No coração do Hotel há outro lugar perfeito. O tranquilo e elegante jardim de Inverno, onde se pode tomar o pequeno almoço, um almoço leve, um chá da tarde ou jantar acompanhado por música de piano ao vivo. Ao lado do lobby, o Winter Garden é um bonito átrio, projetado para oferecer aos hóspedes um lugar para relaxar com o melhor serviço. Entre os vitrais no teto e os pavimentos de mármore com desenhos intricados, pode desfrutar da luz natural abundante e da vista para o jardim interior, enquanto ouve o som da água na fonte e os acordes do piano. Eu certamente gostaria de voltar e ficar para um chá. Tem um ar delicioso!

On our trip to Crete, we spent three nights in Athens and we could not have chosen a better hotel than the Grande Bretagne. More than luxury, it fascinated me its story, the care put into every detail, the excellent service, comfort, location and stunning views. Athens and the Grande Bretagne worth a longer visit and I can not wait to come back!
Located on the emblematic Syntagma Square, the Grande Bretagne is close to everything, and even if you have not planned anything in advance, the Concierge desk will give you all the necessary support to plan your day or to make any reservation or booking.
The entire building, built in 1842 and converted into a hotel in 1874, is stunningly beautiful, but the impact of the large lobby is unlikely to be forgotten. The only aspect that competes with the fabulous interior of the hotel is the fantastic views you can reach from the top of the building. To have breakfast, with a blue sky that only Greece has and to have such a sight of the city and its main monuments is a feast for the senses. Dinner at the GB Roof Garden Restaurant & Bar, watching the lighted city and the Acropolis cut against the sky is a truly unforgettable experience. Adding to the panoramic view of Athens, the restaurant offers a refined, delicious and varied cuisine, together with a careful and attentive service. We liked it so much that we had dinner on the Roof Garden in the three nights that we were in Athens.
Alexander’s Bar, voted as the Best Hotel Bar in the world by Forbes magazine, owes his name to the authentic 18th century tapestry, featuring Alexander the Great entering into Gaugamela. The tapestry is a trademark fixture of the hotel, and is the focal point of the fabled Alexander’s Bar, proudly hanged by the beautiful wooden bar. There you can take a seat on one of the comfortable leather stools, and linger over a classic cocktail, taste a refined brandy, or enjoy an exquisite cognac. I really want to come back with more time and enjoy Alexander’s Bar signature mixed drink – the Mandarin Napoleon Select – a surprising blend of Dubonnet Rouge, Grand Marnier, gin and fragrant essential oil of Sicilian tangerines. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
If you love a good cigar you must visit the Alexander’s Cigar Lounge. With it’s sophisticated space located in the inner garden, the Cigar Lounge boost colonial elegance and a warm atmosphere, offering an ideal setting for enjoying fine cigars, wines, liquors, coffee or tea.
In the heart of the Hotel there is another perfect place. The tranquil and elegant Winter Garden were you can have breakfast, a light lunch, high tea or dinner accompanied by live piano music. Next to the lobby , the Winter Garden is a beautiful atrium space, designed to offer guests a relaxing place with the finest service. Between the beautiful stained glass in the ceiling and the intricate marble floor grounds, you can enjoy the abundant natural light from the windows that overlook the atrium garden and look at the palms, while listening the sound of the water and the tinkling of the piano. I surely would like to come back and stay for some tea.
If you want to relax even more or have one (or more) of a collection of marvelous spa treatments and massages, you must visit the GB SPA. And if walking all around Athens was not enough exercise for you, the Grande Bretagne has a top quality fitness studio were you can do some extra workout. Or you can end your day relaxing at the pool, drinking a cocktail.
And if you do not want to leave the Grand Bretagne without taking a souvenir, the hotel Gift Shop is full of beautiful and delicious things. The only difficulty is to choose.
Nos planos de Verão não pode faltar um piquenique. O contacto com a natureza, o convívio com os amigos, a informalidade, a preguiça e a alegria, comida simples, fresca e saborosa… tudo isso faz dos piqueniques um momento alto da estação.
Nas matas, na praia ou nos parques e jardins da cidade, qualquer lugar ao ar livre serve de desculpa para pegar nas mantas e nas cestas e almoçar ao sol, ou à sombra (conforme preferirem).
Para os que não têm tempo ou vontade de estar a preparar o picnic já existem alternativas em locais bem agradáveis, prontas para desfrutar. Na Tapada nacional de Mafra pode adquirir uma cesta de piquenique para apreciar enquanto passeia nos bosques. Em Lisboa o Hotel da Estrela prepara tudo para quem quiser piquenicar nos seus jardins e o Pestana Palace oferece o piquenique mais chique da cidade. Não há desculpas para não fazer um piquenique este Verão!

Nas últimas férias de Verão fomos conhecer Creta, a maior e mais populosa das ilhas gregas e um dos destinos turísticos mais populares deste país. Ficámos em Elounda, na região nordeste da ilha, num resort frente à ilha de Spinalonga.
Creta e o Blue Palace Resort & Spa revelaram-se uma escolha perfeita. Dias de sol maravilhosos, não demasiado quentes (o meu receio) nem muito ventosos, a água do mar e das piscinas na temperatura ideal, e o hotel com a combinação exacta de luxo, simplicidade e estilo. Através de uma arquitectura que se integra com a paisagem, o Blue Palace proporciona conforto e privacidade aos seus hóspedes, num ambiente pleno de bom gosto.
Vários restaurantes que permitem uma escolha variada, diversas piscinas, SPA e fitness centre, uma praia bem equipada em que passadiços resolvem o desconforto dos seixos, tudo foi pensado para que quem o visita possa ter umas férias relaxantes e cheias de charme.
Os quartos são amplos, confortáveis e bem decorados. A vista de mar é de tirar o fôlego e, para além do terraço, pode optar por um quarto com piscina privativa. Apesar das piscinas serem maravilhosas, não perca a oportunidade de nadar no mar. A temperatura e limpidez da água é incomparável. Apesar do hotel ter um pier que lhe permite mergulhar sem ir pela beira mar, se quiser entrar de forma mais gradual na água deve ir preparado com sandálias de borracha, pois a praia é de seixos o que torna o caminhar absolutamente desconfortável.
Os restaurantes do resort têm uma oferta variada e de qualidade, mas se visitar o Blue Palace não pode deixar de ir conhecer os restaurantes da pequena vila de Plaka, onde o peixe e marisco fresco são maravilhosos. Maravilhoso é também é o pequeno almoço do hotel, com uma variedade e qualidade capaz de satisfazer os paladares mais exigentes. O iogurte grego de leite de cabra com mel da região é uma delícia!
A tentação de voltarmos novamente este ano foi grande, mas há tantos lugares a visitar que não vamos repetir… ainda!

Last summer we went to Crete, the largest and most populous of the Greek islands and one of the most popular touristic destinations of the country. We go to Elounda, in the northeast of the island, to a resort opposite the island of Spinalonga.
Crete and the Blue Palace Resort & Spa proved to be a perfect choice. Days of wonderful sunshine, not too hot (my fear) or too windy, the sea water and the pools at the perfect temperature, and the hotel with the exact combination of luxury, simplicity and style. Through an architecture that integrates with the landscape, the Blue Palace provides comfort and privacy to its guests, in a totally tasteful atmosphere.
Several restaurants that allow a choice, several swimming pools, spa and fitness center, a well-equipped beach where walkways solve the discomfort of pebbles, everything has been designed for those who visit can have a relaxing and charming vacations.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The sea view is breathtaking and you can opt for a room with a terrace or including a private pool. Although the resort pools are wonderful, do not miss the opportunity to swim in the sea. The temperature and water clarity is unmatched. Despite the hotel have a pier that allows you to dive directly in the sea, if you want to get more gradually in the water should go prepared with rubber sandals because the beach is pebbly, what makes walking absolutely uncomfortable.
The restaurants at the resort have a varied and quality offer, but if you visit the Blue Palace you must visit the restaurants in the small village of Plaka, where fresh fish and seafood are wonderful. Wonderful is also the hotel breakfast, with a variety and quality able to satisfy the most discerning palates. The Greek yogurt made of goat milk with honey from the region is a delight!
The temptation to go back again this year was great, but there are so many places to visit that we will not repeat … yet!
Faltam menos de dois meses para ir de férias e já estou a pensar no Verão, no sol, na praia e em mil actividades para preencher o mês que passo a Norte do Equador. É fatal que estas listas de coisas boas para fazer nunca sejam cumpridas na totalidade, mas sonhar não custa!

Este final de semana descobri que o Pestana Palace Hotel & National Monument de Lisboa, situado no Palácio do Marquês de Valle-Flor, serve um Brunch aos Domingos das 12h30 às 16h00. E embora nos sobrem os convites para almoços de domingo com a família e os amigos, este era um dos Brunchs que gostaria de experimentar.

O menu, criado pelo Executive Chef Pedro Inglês Marques aguça o apetite e promete tanto qualidade como requinte. Pode iniciar a refeição com uma bebida de boas-vindas, criada pelo Mixologist Rui Marques, e para os mais gulosos não faltarão deliciosas sobremesas da autoria do Chef Patissier Francisco Pavia para terminar a refeição. Pelo meio haverá Sushi, entradas, saladas, sopas e cremes, carne e peixe.

A refeição é acompanhada por piano tocado ao vivo e depois (ou antes) de saborear o seu brunch pode visitar os salões e os jardins deste palácio classificado como Monumento Nacional. Sob marcação prévia pode, ainda, aproveitar as bonitas piscinas do hotel, o que pode ser uma excelente alternativa à praia na confusão do fim de semana.

Summer Plans | Brunch at the Palace
There are less than two months to go on holiday and I’m already thinking about summer, sun, beach and in a thousand activities to fill the month spend on the Northern Hemisphere. It is inevitable that these lists of wonderful things to do are never met in full, but dreaming does not cost!
This weekend I found that the Pestana Palace Hotel & National Monument in Lisbon, located in the Palace of the Marquis de Valle-Flor serves a brunch on Sundays from 12:30 to 16:00. And although we always have too many invitations for Sunday lunches with family and friends, this was one of Brunchs I would like to try.
The menu, created by Executive Chef Pedro Marques English is full of promises of both quality and refinement. You can start the meal with a welcome drink, created by Mixologist Rui Marques, and for the sweet tooth there are plenty of delicious desserts by Chef Patissier Francisco Pavia to end the meal. In between there will be Sushi, starters, salads, soups and creams, meat and fish.
The meal is accompanied by piano played live and after (or before) to enjoy your brunch you can visit the halls and grounds of the palace, classified as a National Monument. Under appointment you may also take advantage of the beautiful hotel pools, which can be a great alternative to the beach in the confusion of the weekend.

Na nossa estada em Buenos Aires, optámos pelo Hotel Park Tower, situado no barrioRetiro, perto da Plaza San Martin e em frente da icônica “Torre de los Ingleses”. Inaugurado em 1996, este hotel funciona numa moderna torre de vinte e três andares, com vista fantástica sobre a cidade e sobre o Rio da Prata.
Recentemente renovado, acolhe-nos com um estilo cuidado e confortável. Os quartos são espaçosos e bem equipados, com os habituais mimos de chocolates, vinho argentino e doce de leite, para além de uma vista impressionante.
O Lobby e o Lounge que o integra, causam impacto pela decoração do espaço, pela luz e pela harmonia das cores, coordenadas com uma belíssima tapeçaria original do Sec. XVII, descrevendo Alexandre o Grande a prestar homenagem à mãe de Darius, o rei da Pérsia.
À tarde é servido chá no Lounge e, a julgar pelo aspecto, deve ser delicioso. Para além do Restaurante St. Regis, onde jantámos na primeira noite, os hóspedes podem aceder ao bar e restaurantes do Hotel Sheraton que fica ao lado.
A atenção e excelente serviço dos funcionários contribuíram para uma estada muito agradável.

In our stay in Buenos Aires, we have chosen the Hotel Park Tower, situated in the Retiro district, near the Plaza San Martin and in front of the iconic “Torre de los Ingleses”. Opened in 1996, this hotel operates in a modern tower of twenty-three floors, with fantastic views over the city and the River Plate.
Recently renovated, welcomes us with a careful and comfortable style. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with the usual treats of chocolates, Argentine wine and Dulce de Letche, in addition to an amazing view.
The Lobby and the Lounge, impact with the decoration of the space, the light and the harmony of colors, coordinated with a gorgeous original French tapestry, depicting Alexander the Great paying homage to Darius’s mother, the king of Persia.
Afternoon tea is served in the Lounge, and judging by the look, should be delicious. In addition to the St. Regis Restaurant, where we had dinner on the first night, guests can access the bar and restaurants of the Sheraton Hotel which is next door.
The attention and excellent service from the staff contributed to a most enjoyable stay.
